Perfect Weapon by Jade Kerrion A 5 Star Review

The Third book in the Series Double Helix
Review Perfection Unleashed #1
Review Perfect Betrayal #2

Title: Perfect Weapon Book # 3
Series: Double Helix
Author: Jade Kerrion

Don’t fear the army of genetically engineered perfect killers. Fear the cripple who leads them.

An alpha empath, Danyael Sabre is powerful, rare, and coveted, even among the alpha mutants who dominate the Genetic Revolution. Betrayed by his friends and abandoned to a life sentence in a maximum-security prison, Danyael receives freedom and sanctuary from an unlikely quarter—the Mutant Assault Group, an elite mutant task force within the US military. Physically crippled and emotionally vulnerable, Danyael succumbs to the warmth of friendships and the promise of love he finds within their ranks.

Friendship and love, however, demand his loyalty, and Danyael rises to the challenge of training and leading the assault group’s genetically modified super soldier army. The super soldiers are faster and stronger than the military’s human soldiers; their animal instincts spur ferocity and fearlessness in battle. Who is the perfect weapon, though, the super soldiers or Danyael, the alpha empath, who can, with a touch, heal or kill?

Adversaries swarm like vultures around carrion; the pawn is once again in play. The threads of betrayal that sent Danyael to prison spin into a web, ensnaring him. When a terrorist group strikes Washington, D.C., how far will Danyael go to defend a government that sent him to prison to die?

PERFECT WEAPON is the third novel in the award-winning Double Helix series.

My 5 Star Review

Once again applause is in order for another brilliant delivery. Compelling too the very end this emotional Sci-Fi book will capture your imagination and thoughts too the end. Drawn into the life of Danyael Sabre as more truths are discovered. Struggling with the emotional betrayal of friends after his fourteen month of confinement under the most horrific torture any man could endure.
After a daring break out and plopped into the arms of his enemies he had no idea who was friend or foe. Who he can trust in the ever present world filled of hate and betrayal was the ever growing question. Emotions escalating all around him and new friendships are formed. Restricted in a military base he came to terms with his fate and helped the program off Super Soldiers.
With a mere soft word and touch he controlled fifty deadly soldiers with the mind set of curious toddlers but ready to kill at a mere nod off the head.
Meeting another woman Major Amanda Chandler who not only was his friend but lover. She supported him through all his emotional turmoil helping to grasp at normality. While still fighting immense pain from wounds inflicted by Lucien in Book 2, with no help from his friends.
Miriya was the only one still tapped in his thoughts that reach out to him through the whole ADX ordeal. Coming to grips with her own turmoil of addiction and self loathing, knowing her part in the deceit.
Zara really made a turn for the better but then a child would do that to a person. It does not matter how hard she tries to be. Her love causing her to help Danyael in every possible way.
Galahad struggling with the issue of perfection. Jealous because of people turning to Danyael in his obvious unperfection, women he falls in love with, leaving him. On a undetected killing spree, only noticeable by Xin.
All the characters throughout the books developed into their own skins. Becoming realistic in the fight for justice and freedom.
Except maybe Lucien. On the one hand you could feel sorry for him, his mind altered so that he would cut away from Danyael but on the other hand I was really annoyed with him. The history they shared was more than just friendship. They became brothers in the true meaning of the word, so with that said he could surpass the emotional blockage and stretched out a hand of compassion. But he never once did. He became cold, heartless and distant and I really hope that we will see a restoration of this friendship in book 4.
I can not wait to read the next book.
I loved the way the book ended and would really hope to see the results of the ending continue in book 4.
A great read with many twists and turns leaving you wanting at every turn of the page.
Entertaining and thoughtful, well written and fast paced, well developed and gripping. All good components of a great book and series.
