Author Bio:

“I have been writing as long as I can remember. I have been writing in the wee hours when my 6 kids were all babies. With my last one I was inspired by the Red Rock Mountains in Southern Utah. I started writing and my 12 year old (at the time) found it. She wrote on the bottom FINISH IT!!! Every day I would write more and she would repeat it.
It became The Amulet.
I am currently living and loving Oregon. I have 6 kids and a wonderful husband of 16 years (almost).
I hope you will love my stories as much as I do.” ~Holly Zitting

My review

I received this book from the Touring Host for an honest review.

This is book 2 in The Amulet Prophecy series, and since I have not read the first book I was at a loss from the first page. At times, the author did managed to bring in the information needed to catch up, but I would recommend that you read Book 1 first.
A book with a lot of promise but it did not manage to hold my attention, struggling to get through it.  Although well written the different view points through out the book disturbed the quality of the reading, breaking its flow. Because of this I struggled to connect with the two main characters Emma and Simon. At times the characters felt mechanical, not believing that this could be real. I believe if all these different POV's would be left out, and the repetitions deleted it would have made for a much better read.
The plot was interesting but disappeared amidst the emotional turmoil of each character, and it failed in my view. The only scene that truly stood out and where I actually connected with Emma and James was during the fight with the Wicked.
I thought the villain Antonio's part was good, playing in the back ground and creating all the havoc the characters finds them in.
